Welcome

A FEW FRIENDLY WARNINGS/THREATS/PROMISES/GUARANTEES:
I'm Christina.
One day my epitaph will read: "At least she died honest."
So, that's what you will be getting. The honest to goodness truth about my experience with discovering, living, and dealing with my BRCA2 mutation and the decisions related to this genetic discovery. If you have a positive mutation, I hope this helps you. If you don't but worry/wonder if you should be tested, that's your call. You do you. And whatever decision you make, there is a community of women and men who are survivors and "previvors" to hold your hand, pat you on the back, dry your tears, and make fart noises to make you laugh. [Mostly the fart noises are just from my dad or our corgi, Ursala, so if you don't find them funny SHAME ON YOU!]
There could also be pictures of boobs.
Not the kinky kind, the medical kind. Those might make you sad, but don't worry, in the end I will have higher and tighter boobs than you...so really you should be jealous!

the basics about BRCA1 & BRCA2 mutations

If you are new to this and you don't pay attention to Angelina Jolie, Dr. David Burger from Integris can do a much better job of telling you what you should know about the BRCA1 & BRCA2 mutation. And, unfortunately, it isn't the type of mutation that gives me super powers, other than being a badass lady who takes control of her medical future!

[Side note: I have loved ALL of the doctors, PAs, nurses, and staff that I have worked with throughout this entire process. There will be a gush fest about my love for the Integris system later on.]

Check the blog for the latest updates on my life with BRCA2 mutation.  I think if you put your email in that box, you will get updates?  I'm not sure.  I'm new to the internet, I'll call Al Gore and ask him.
